We hear all the time about man caves, manscaping, and man therapy, and while taking care of yourself as a man is a great thing, and it’s good that you’re not doing it with shame involved, you should make sure that you’re also focusing on your oral health. Oral health is a big component of a man’s health, and stepping up on that self-care is usually a good thing. Then there is impotence, and it is tied to men with gum disease, especially those that are over 70 and under 30 if there is a lot of inflammation such as with gum disease, it causes issues with blood vessels and flow, which can lead to erectile dysfunction amongst other things, and if not taken care of, it actually can cause impotence in men, which is something that many men don’t want.
So how do you fix it? Well, if you discover that you’re lax on your oral health, ti’s never too late to change this, and adopting good oral care practices is actually one of the best and easiest changes you as a person can make.
For starters, see your dentist at least biannually. This can include getting an exam, cleaning, and x-rays. Usually, they’ll check your gum health too, and give you some recommendations to make your mouth as healthy as you can, so follow that in order to prolong better oral health choices.
Then there is brushing. You need to brush twice a day for two minutes completely in order to do away with plaque and bacteria, which are the two culprits that cause cavities and inflammation. Along with that, make sure that you floss twice a day to get the plaque in areas that you normally can’t reach. Along with this, you should make sure to rinse with an alcohol-free mouthwash every single day as well in order to kill bacteria and germs that will lead to the buildup. It also freshens your brush too so if you’ve got an important meeting, does take the time to do that.
Chewing gum should also be done as well since it increases your saliva and rinses away particles. Finally, quit smoking and live a healthier life. You don’t need to do that just for your mouth, but for your own general well-being as well.
